This involves several goals. The first is to mobilize and unite the different Asian American groups under one umbrella to form a unified Asian American vote. The second is increasing the participation of Asian Americans in the Democratic Party specifically and the American political system generally. A third goal is to increase the presence and understanding of the Democratic Party within the Asian American community.

To these ends, AADT undertakes a variety of activities, from political education to organization and mobilization to meetings with elected officials.

Asian American Democrats of Texas currently has chapters in Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio.
