Founded in 1990,
Asian American Democrats of Texas serves as a link between the Asian American
community and the larger political community.
This
involves several goals. The first is to mobilize and unite the different Asian
American groups under one umbrella to form a unified Asian American vote. The
second is increasing the participation of Asian Americans in the Democratic
Party specifically and the American political system generally. A third goal is
to increase the presence and understanding of the Democratic Party within the
Asian American community.
To these ends,
AADT undertakes a variety of activities, from
political education to organization and mobilization to meetings with elected
officials.
Asian American Democrats of Texas currently has chapters in Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio.
We invite you to join us in our activities as we organize
for the future.
